leave for an adventurous day. Stop by a traditional Maasai village, visit with the villagers. Winston, your guide, is Maasai, and can act as your interpreter to help you engage in conversation with the people. You may even get the chance to enter the chief's hut. If you bring Bic pens and small hand mirrors (compact size is fine), you will be well loved by this village. The pens are for the school children and the mirrors for the women. Both are very difficult for the Maasai people to get. Afterwards, drive to Olduvai Gorge and stop at the museum which overlooks the spectacular gorge. Drive through the gorge. If you would like to take an hour or two to trek through the gorge, please let Winston know!
On the way to Serengeti stop by "Shifting Sands". This is an ancient Maasai prayer mound. In a "sea" of light brown sand, this mound of black sand move a few miles a year, shifting forever in the wind. (Note: this drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area/Olduvai Gorge is subject to weather conditions).
Dinner and overnight at Mapito Tented camp,Ikoma Tented Camp.F.B

DAY 11-13: Serengeti National Park.
Full day game drives in the Serengeti. This is the land of most peoples' safari dreams. Serengeti has an amazing abundance of animals. In dry season (May - Oct), game is concentrated around water holes, making multiple species photo shots fairly easy to come by. In wet season (Jan - Mar), game is scattered all over the plains! June - Aug is the season of the Great Wildebeest Migration - a sight to be seen! Apr - May, be prepared for the babies. Most are born in Feb - Mar, and are out and about by this time. No season is a bad season in the Serengeti.
Being able to go "far and wide" maximizes your chances of finding a cheetah, or maybe even a family of them (as well as an abundance of other game). Spending the day completely off the beaten path, you will likely not see another truck. But we guarantee you will see much more game than those whose vehicles never leave the road!
Accommodations: Mapito Tented camp, Ikoma Tented Camp F.B.

You will experience their bush life as they have unique style of hunting as they eat game meat, rodents, insects, roots and leave.
